Network Meeting 8: Building an Ontology of Bioinformatics Software with Collaborative Protege
Contents:
1. Meeting Details
The aim of this two day meeting will be to collaboratively build an ontology of software artefacts. The primary need is to describe those programmes used in analysing data from biomedical investigations.
Over the two days we will:
Explore current software vocabularies;
Develop the structure for a new software ontology;
Develop said ontology using collaborative Protege 3.
This follows on from the previous meeting where we used collaborative P3 to extend some of OBI's devices ontology. Now we know it works, we want to do it again. As usual, we'll use OWL and follow our usual normalisation methodology. We will have our ethnography friends in attendance.
